Liquid vs pressurized Co2 (Part 1)

There's a really strong concesus that injected co2 is superior to liquid Co2, and though I believe it, I wanted to see it for myself. This was basically the idea that kicked off what's becoming this website and youtube page.

We've filled 2 10 gallon aquariums and placed Cryptocoryne Wendtii and Staurogyne Repen in each tank, leveled out the water parameters, and added liquid fertilizer. In the tank on the left we're using API Co2 Booster, and on the right we have Fluvals 20g Co2 system. (using Fluval 20g refill)

We'll be monitoring these aquariums for a while, so there's going to be some time between updates.

As of this week, pH parameters were 7.0 for both tanks, Kh was 80 and GH was at 60. We'll do a test at some point multiple times a day to see what the PH fluctuans are like at night vs day.

THe tests we are using are API test strips - the 5 in one version, though a simpler GH KH test is available (We did this just to cut back on using up our freshwater masterkit solutions).

For the time being we're doing the reccomended dosage for the Liquid Co2, and filling up the difficuser once a day, both chamber, then one additional time with just one chamber (We're doing this because the kit is for up to 15 gallons, whereas we're only using 10).

When we publish the introduction video, there'll be a link to it here.
